Slough - 1st February 2014

So, I've recently been working on a project called 'Broken Britain'. I figured a good place to start with was a juicy bit of fascism and violence, so I went to the English Defence League march in Slough. Unite Against Fascism were also there to oppose the EDL. I don't understand all the fighting violence with more violence thing, but at least UAF are accepting of everyone... Apart from the EDL and other far-right groups.

Islamophobia is the new racism and it needs to stop.

Here's a few photos:

Industrial Landscapes

Here are a few photographs from my Industrial Landscape work. They are mostly taken in Sheffield, the heart of industry in Britain, but the first photo is taken in Leicester.

'Stop the Immigration Bill'

As I was walking through Sheffield earlier today, I came across a large group of people protesting against the Immigration Bill which is currently being discussed in Parliament. The protest was organised by SYMAAG - South Yorkshire Migration and Asylum Action Group.
I think anyone who knows me will know I love Multi-Cultural Britain therefore support immigration. Please take a look at the website above if you would like to know more about the Immigration Bill and what SYMAAG are hoping to achieve.

Here's some pictures:

Landscapes

I haven't uploaded anything to my blog for a while, so I thought I would upload a few photographs from a recent module at University. I'm not usually mad on landscapes but I find them interesting for what they are. I'm planning on photographing some industrial landscapes in Sheffield when I can, so I can hopefully make a bit more of a statement, but here are a few basic shots from the last couple of weeks:

Caribbean Carnival - 3rd August 2013

The thing that I love about Leicester, is how multi-cultural the city is. Many people from different cultural backgrounds live in leicester and it creates a lovely, diverse atmosphere around the city. There are often events celebrating different cultures in Leicester and last Saturday I photographed the Caribbean Carnival in the city centre.
Here are a selection of the photographs:
